Toronto employees fear lockout

Head of union for city’s outside workers predicts they could face a lockout in January.
The contract for 6,700 outside workers, including garbage collectors, expires at the end of the year and union officials fear a deal will not be reached because city hall is in the process of cutting services and employees.
Mayor Rob Ford’s office denies the claims saying they are going through a “thoughtful process” and will continue to speak to the people of Toronto.
