Sarnia woman files 2nd salmonella-related cantaloupe lawsuit
A second class-action lawsuit is being pitched over the salmonella-contaminated cantaloupe that has killed seven Canadians.
This time, a Sarnia woman is leading the charge in a Manitoban court.
In a statement of claims, she alleges that the fruit made her sick for 10 days with symptoms of abdominal cramps, diarrhea and vomiting.

A similar lawsuit is already underway in Quebec, where a case has been launched against a fruit producer based in Mexico and a distribution company based in Arizona.
A third act of litigation remains up in the air in B.C.
According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, the death toll has not increased from last month’s previous figure of seven.
There have been 164 laboratory-confirmed cases spanning eight provinces.
