Police seek public’s help to find suspect in fatal Hamilton assault

Hamilton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect after a man was assaulted in May and died from his injuries.

On May 31 at around 11:20 a.m., police responded to the area of Wentworth Street North and Bristol Street following reports of an assault.

Officers found a man suffering from a serious head injury.

Investigators say he was transported to hospital, where he remained until his death on July 30.

As the investigation continued, police determined the assault occurred in Pinky Lewis Parkette, located at 169 Sanford Ave. N.

Detectives are working to identify the person responsible and believe the suspect is often at the Tim Hortons located at 505 Cannon St. E.

Officers describe the suspect as a Black man with a medium build, who was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, white shorts and a white bucket hat.
