Ring Video Doorbell recalled

Health Canada is recalling the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) because the doorbell’s battery can overheat posing a fire or burn hazards.

The video doorbells have a blue ring at the front and come in two colours: “satin nickel” and “Venetian bronze”, model number 5UM5E5.

If the wrong screws are used during installation the battery can be damaged and overheat.

Consumers can determine if their doorbell is included in this recall by entering the serial number at http://support.ring.com/ring-2nd-gen-recall.

There has been one reported incident in Canada and 85 reports in the U.S. The affected products were sold from June 2020 through October 2020.
