Hamilton police say they’ve shut down an illegal cannabis dispensary on Barton Street East.

Officers say they conducted a search at “My Legacy Cannabis” on Oct. 29, which was operating at 1142 Barton St. East, near Ottawa Street North.

As a result of the search, detectives arrested a 24-year-old Hamilton man and charged him with four counts related to the illegal sale of cannabis and tobacco.

Police say they also seized:

• A large sum of Canadian currency
• 16.2 kg of cannabis flower
• 7 kg pre-rolled cannabis “joints”
• 5.8 kg of cannabis “shake”
• 14 kg of cannabis-infused gummies
• 9.6 kg of cannabis-infused chocolate
• 800 g of cannabis hashish
• 46 cannabis resin syringes
• 111 cannabis oil cartridges
• Two cannabis oil tinctures
• Five nicotine vapes

Investigators say this is the third illegal dispensary shut down in Hamilton over the last month and that there are around 30 more still operating in the city.
