Niagara Public Health says they found a series of ticks still active in October.
The discovery was made during their annual fall tick-dragging program.
In all, Public Health collected 34 black legged ticks in Grimsby, Lincoln, Pelham, Niagara-On-The-Lake and Port Colborne.
The types of ticks collected can transmit Lyme disease and other infections to people and pets.
The collected ticks have been sent to a lab for testing.
Niagara Public Health is advising the public to continue protecting yourself from ticks by wearing long sleeve shirts and pants.
People are also advised to be checking your pets for ticks that may have become attached to them.
