The ridings in the 905 belt around Toronto will be crucial for whichever party forms the next government. And after Justin Trudeau left Hamilton today, he headed to a café in downtown St. Catharines. As Lauran Sabourin reports, in the bell-weather riding of St. Catharines, polls show the race between the Liberal and Conservative candidates is tightening.

St. Catharines riding has more than 83 thousand eligible voters.

Conservative incumbent Rick Dykstra, who’s been MP since 2006, has been knocking on doors for months. “I hear a lot about obviously jobs.”

Dykstra’s being challenged by Liberal candidate Chris Bittle, a St. Catharines lawyer. “The number one issue is jobs. Jobs and the economy.”
