The union representing Ontario elementary school teachers is slamming the public school board association for bargaining in public — and says it will have to re-evaluate how it proceeds in negotiations.
This after the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association released a statement saying that more than 30 days of bargaining have allowed it, along with the union and the government, to resolve the majority of outstanding issues, including such items as class size, salary increases and preparation time.
The two important issues still on the table though are sick leave and benefits.
The Association says its proposals are similar to the ones accepted by other teacher unions – and the announcement was just to let the public know progress had been made in their 30 days of talks.
