Provincial police have identified the remains of a second victim in a Simcoe, Ont., homicide.

Officers say the remains were found on Oct. 16 in a wooded area off Highway 6, west of Caledonia in Haldimand County.

The following day, a postmortem exam at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service confirmed the deceased as 49-year-old Robert Sykes of Simcoe and determined his cause of death to be homicide.

OPP had previously said that Sykes was missing and believed to be another victim after the body of 71-year-old Barbara Morgan was found on Oct. 5 in her home on Head Street South in Simcoe.
