Body found at Lincoln’s Charles Daley Park now considered homicide, say police

Niagara police say they are now classifying the discovery of a woman’s body at Charles Daley Park in Lincoln, Ont. as a homicide.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Oct. 21, officers responded to Charles Daley Park after receiving reports of the discovery of a woman’s body with traumatic injuries.

Authorities report the body has been identified as a woman from outside of the Niagara Region. At this time, her identity is being withheld pending the family being notified.

The homicide classification comes following a post-mortem examination.

The scene at Charles Daley Park has since been reopened to the public.

Detectives with the homicide unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
