Ontario reports 148 new cases of COVID-19

Ontario is reporting 148 new cases of COVID-19.

This is the ninth straight day the province has seen triple digit new cases.

According to Health Minister Christine Elliott, Peel, Toronto and Ottawa lead the province in new cases.

An additional 116 cases of COVID-19 have been marked as resolved.

The province has updated its death count to 2,811, which is one fewer than reported on Thursday.

There are 1,282 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.

 

Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:

Haldimand-Norfolk: 0 new cases, 23 active cases

Brant: 0 new cases, 5 active cases

Niagara: 1 new case, 10 active cases

Halton: 1 new case, 24 active cases

Hamilton: 82 active cases **has not updated data since Sept. 2
