Niagara Falls man charged in fraud case
A man posing as wealthy businessman and accountant is accused of fraud by Niagara Regional Police.
Police say the crimes occurred between December and January when the man used a front as a wealthy businessman and accountant to act as a broker between banks and estates. He was able to convince people to pay him large amounts of cash for discounted cars and electronics that he never delivered.
After an investigation into a series of cases around Welland and the Niagara region, police charged Edward Leslie, 47, with fraud over $5,000.
Leslie will appear in a Welland court on April 11, 2012.
