Mt. Albert fire station destroyed by fire

Fire fighters in Mt. Albert were battling a blaze at their own fire station today.

The fire broke out at around 8 a.m.

Crews were eventually able to put out the flames, but not before they ripped through and destroyed the station.

There are also reports that six fire trucks were severely damaged. Nobody was inside the building at the time, and there’s no word yet on what caused the fire.
