Woman accused in double homicide appears in court

A woman and her common-law husband accused of killing her ex-husband and his mother appeared in a Brampton courtroom today for a bail hearing.

33-year-old Melissa Merritt and 36-year-old Christopher Fattore were remanded into custody.

They’re charged in the death of Caleb Harrison last year and Bridget Harrison a few years earlier.

Peel Police have also reopened an investigation into the 2009 death of Bridget Harrison’s husband. He died in the same home. At the time, he was believed to have died of natural causes.

The couple will appear in court again on March 6.
