Mechanical failure to blame for fire at Burlington hospital parking garage, officials say

Mechanical failure is being blamed for a fire in a parking garage at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington.

Crews responded to the garage around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, finding flames and heavy smoke upon arrival.

Officials say a vehicle on the third floor of the garage had caught fire.

It took around an hour to bring the flames under control.

No injuries were reported, and damage is estimated at around $300,000.
