Oakville woman arrested for allegedly trafficking three women

Halton police have arrested an Oakville woman in a human trafficking investigation.

Officers say 33-year-old Shemica Duncan was using “coercion, manipulation, physical violence and psychological harm,” to control three women.

Duncan was allegedly trafficking the women in the sex trade throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Investigators performed a search of a home in Oakville on Oct. 1, 2025 where they seized electronics and money which were used as evidence.

Police charged Duncan on Oct. 16, 2025 with 20 counts relating to her alleged actions.

Duncan’s charges are as follows:

  • Six sounds of procuring
  • Three counts of advertising sexual services
  • Two counts of forcible confinement
  • Two counts of benefiting materially from sexual services
  • Two counts of benefiting materially from trafficking people
  • One count of uttering threats
  • One count of choking
  • One count of assault with a weapon

Duncan is being held in custody before a bail hearing in Milton

Duncan has utilized the alias of “Coco” and investigators believe there may be additional victims.
