Halton police have laid multiple charges in connection with a series of break and enters that happened in Burlington and Oakville in November.
Officers say suspects targeted and cased homes, picking houses where the residents would not be home during the day.
They say the suspects forced open locked front doors and stole cash, jewelry and other valuables, primarily from bedrooms.
“Residents in the Orchard and Alton Village neighbourhoods of Burlington as well as residents of north Burlington and Oakville were directly impacted, and our investigators worked tirelessly to identify and charge those responsible,” said Halton Regional Police Service Deputy Chief Roger Wilkie in a statement.
The investigation into the break and enters involved Halton police collaborating with nearby police services, including in York and Peel regions.

“This investigation required extensive video canvassing and investigators worked closely with neighbouring police services to identify those responsible for these offences,” said 3 District Supt. Dave Costantini in a statement.
Following an investigation, police arrested 44-year-old Clayton McFarlane of Oshawa and 33-year-old Darnyl Campbell of Grimsby, and charged each of them with four counts of break and enter and four counts of disguising with intent.
Both McFarlane and Campbell appeared at a Milton courthouse on March 6, and were remanded into custody.
Police believe the accused may be responsible for additional offences and have released their photos to help residents identify them.
