A Hamilton temporary help agency, ML Staffing Solutions Inc., has been fined $100,000 after providing false records to an employment standards officer and obstructing an inspection.
The offences took place between Jan. 27 and Feb. 3, 2023.
The company pleaded guilty and was convicted on Feb. 25, 2026.
In addition to the fine, a 25 per cent victim fine surcharge was imposed, which goes to a provincial fund to assist victims of crime.
The investigation began on Dec. 28, 2022, when an employment standards officer issued a Demand for Records to ML Staffing Solutions to check compliance with the Employment Standards Act.
The company provided only partial records, and discrepancies were discovered when the officer reviewed client and bank records.
The province says none of the information in the company’s records was accurate, which prevented the officer from completing the inspection.
ML Staffing Solutions is located at 158 Hester St. in Hamilton.
