Man involved in hit-and-run killing Hamilton conductor Boris Brott appears in court

The man involved in the hit-and-run that killed renowned Hamilton conductor Boris Brott appeared in court Wednesday.
Arsenije Lojovic, 33, has been charged with dangerous operation causing death, failure to stop after an accident causing death, and failure to comply with probation. He appeared in court by Zoom while in custody today.
Arsenije Lojovic has an online profile as an aspiring actor. His page says he lives in Toronto.
Neighbours who witnessed the incident say Lojovic was driving the wrong way on Markland Street in downtown Hamilton and turned onto Park Avenue. That’s when he struck and killed Boris Brott who lived in the neighbourhood.
Lojovic was arrested a short time later on the mountain on Elmwood Street. His car has a smashed windshield and was boxed in by a police cruiser. Another police cruiser in the area was also damaged. Lojovic and three police officers were taken to hospital for minor injuries. The officers have since been released.
Since the police were involved, the Special Investigations Unit has taken over the case but has no updates today.
Police say it’s possible he will face additional charges as the investigation continues.
Arsenije Lojovic will be appearing in court again on Friday.
