Man charged in fatal Niagara Falls motorcycle crash in August

Niagara police have arrested a 39-year-old man for his involvement in a motorcycle accident that killed a man at the end of August.

Officers have charged Kyle Kmetyk of Niagara Falls with dangerous operation causing death and say that he turned himself in on Monday.

The crash happened on Aug. 29 just before 6 p.m. at the corner of Marineland Parkway and Portage Road.

Investigators quickly determined that a grey 2003 Harley Davidson was driving south on Marineland Parkway when the driver lost control and was ejected.

The 43-year-old man of St. Catharines was the sole occupant of the bike and died from his injuries in the hospital.

Police say Kmetyk is expected in court on Tuesday for a bail hearing in St. Catharines.
