Makhniashvili sentenced

Father of missing Toronto woman off to prison for assault.
Vakhtang Makhniashvili has been sentenced to six years in jail after pleading guilty to three counts of aggravated assault earlier this year.
He will serve four years and 11 months with a credit for pretrial custody.
A psychiatric assessment presented to the court indicated he suffers from a delusional disorder.
His daughter Mariam vanished in September 2009.
Toronto police are looking into a new lead into her disappearance and are now going through surveillance video after a reported sighting in Toronto earlier this week.
