Local police chiefs take icy pre-plunge to support Special Olympics Ontario

Three local police chiefs took part in a pre-plunge fundraising event for the 2025 Special Olympics Ontario Summer Games.
Brant County OPP Inspector Andrea Quenneville, Brantford Chief of Police Jason Saunders and Six Nations Chief of Police Darren Montour took part in a pre-plunge event this week.
This was done ahead of the official Polar Plunge being held Mar. 6, at Wayne Gretzky Centre.
Special Olympics athletes Kailee Mitchell and Sarah Orgar also took part in the pre-plunge.
Inspector Andrea Quenneville said, “this is more than just a cold-water challenge – it’s about supporting athletes who inspire us with their dedication and determination.”
“We are proud to take the plunge and show our support for the Special Olympics movement.”
The police departments aim to raise $50,000 to support athletes from across the province that want to compete at the games.
The 2025 Special Olympics Ontario Summer Games will be hosted in Brantford, Brant County and Six Nations.
