Glendale Avenue Bridge closed following fatal crash

Niagara police have closed portions of Welland Canals Parkway and Glendale Avenue Bridge following a fatal crash early Thursday morning.
Detectives say at around 12:50 a.m. they attended the area of Glendale Avenue and Welland Canals Parkway in St. Catharines for a vehicle collision with fatal injuries.
Investigations revealed a 24-year-old man was driving a silver Toyota Supra, and was allegedly driving at a high speed before losing control and crashing into a building.
Emergency crews pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Officers have closed the bridge on both sides for an ongoing crash investigation, after a notice on the crash was posted on X at just before 2 a.m.

Welland Canals Parkway at Rockwood Avenue reopened at around 8:30 a.m., but the bridge remains closed.
