Liberals and Bloc Québécois strike down Conservative carbon tax motion
A swing in political allegiances is under question inside the House of Commons today, following a carbon tax vote to include more Canadians from the tax exemption.
Yesterday, the Bloc Quebecois supported the Trudeau Liberals’ decision to strike down the Conservative party’s attempt at cancelling the levy on all home heating – one that was given to citizens who use oil heating, mostly residing in Atlantic Canada.
Opposition leader Pierre Poilievre called out Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for playing regional favourites and forming a coalition with Quebec, a province where the federal carbon tax isn’t in effect.
