Hamilton police have identified the man whose body was found in a culvert in Stoney Creek Wednesday morning as part of a homicide investigation.
Officers responded to reports of an unresponsive person in the north end of Fruitland Road at around 8:15 a.m., where they found the body of 29-year-old Taranpreet Singh Sidhu from Brampton.
Detectives confirm that Sidhu’s death is the result of a homicide.
Police did not say what the cause of death is at this time, as the investigation remains ongoing.
Officers are confident that the victim was not killed in the area where he was found, and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
Investigators say Sidhu immigrated to Canada from India in 2022, and lived in Brampton and Halifax while working as a truck driver.
