Homicide detectives investigate suspicious death in Stoney Creek

Homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a person whose body was found near Fruitland Road in Stoney Creek on Wednesday morning.

Hamilton police responded around 8:15 a.m. to a report of an unresponsive person in a culvert in the area of Fruitland and North Service roads.

Officers say the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The public is asked to avoid the area as investigators remain there, working to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

Hamilton police are expected to provide an update regarding this investigation at 2 p.m.
