Hamilton police have charged a man allegedly involved in multiple stabbing incidents downtown that left four people in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, officers responded to several reports of stabbings beginning shortly after 2:10 p.m. in the area of King and James streets and the Frank A. Cooke Transit Terminal.

Oscar Ayala of no fixed address has been arrested. He’s been charged with four counts of assault with a weapon.

Investigators are also asking anyone with any information to contact police.
