Funnel cloud weather advisory issued for Hamilton, Halton, Niagara

Hamilton, Halton and Niagara regions are facing a weather advisory Wednesday afternoon as the formation of funnel clouds is possible.
Environment Canada released a weather advisory shortly after 11:30 a.m. saying conditions are favourable for the development of funnel clouds.
Weak thunderstorms or rapidly growing clouds have the potential to generate funnel clouds with poor rotation.

These cloud formations could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado. Landspout tornadoes do not usually cause significant damage but can still be dangerous. They can be strong enough to topple trees, damage roofs or toss debris short distances
Environment Canada says funnel clouds usually appear with little or no warning and residents are encouraged to seek shelter if they see one developing.
