A dump truck carrying scrap engines lost control on the QEW this afternoon, sending debris flying onto the South Service Road. It went up on the concrete barrier sending debris out of it’s load and onto the road, luckily no was hurt. It happened shortly after 1pm.
The OPP believe the cause of the crash is apparent, the right front tire blew and the driver lost control. Police say it’s something that’s difficult to foresee and prevent. Gurvinder Singh has experience driving trucks and says losing a tire is dangerous to everyone around you. “I also drive big rig and once the front tire pops you have no control what so ever.”
In this case it caused the dumpster to dislodge, hanging on by a single cable and spilling out the scrap aluminium and iron engines.
