Hamilton’s Dewitt Road repairs pushed to late October, early November

Hamilton Public Works says work on the Dewitt Road won’t be complete until late October or early November following a rockfall in May that caused the city to close the road.

In a communication update to councillors on Wednesday, Public Works said restorations must be completed on Ridge Road first.

The city says restorative work on Ridge Road is expected to begin in mid to late September and take about two weeks.

During this time, the section of Ridge Road between Tapleytown Road and Third Road East will be closed and traffic will be detoured.

Construction is expected to move to the Dewitt Road escarpment and access stabilization work once the Ridge Road work is complete and the road is reopened to full traffic.

The work on Dewitt Road is anticipated to take about a month, allowing it to be completed by late October or early November.
