EMPOWER Strategy Group is calling on residents across the Golden Horseshoe to help recognize individuals and organizations making a difference in the community in this year’s Greater Golden Horseshoe Diversity Awards.
Nominations have opened for the third annual Golden Horseshoe Diversity Awards, which will take place on Oct. 14 at Carmen’s Event Centre in Hamilton.
The awards celebrate leadership across Hamilton, Halton, Niagara and communities throughout the Golden Horseshoe.
This year’s theme, courageous leadership: creating workplaces and communities of belonging celebrates leaders who foster environments where everyone can contribute, succeed and feel valued.
“Every community has individuals and organizations whose leadership quietly transforms lives,” said Evelyn Myrie, Founder and CEO of EMPOWER Strategy Group.

“These awards are an opportunity to recognize the people who are opening doors, breaking down barriers, creating opportunities and helping others feel seen, valued, and included.”
The awards recognize excellence in five key categories including organizational leadership in both the business/public and non-profit sectors, senior leaders, community advocates and youth champions between the ages of 16 and 24.
“Nominations are at the heart of these awards. Recognition begins with someone taking a few moments to say, ‘This person deserves to be celebrated.’ We know there are remarkable leaders throughout our region whose contributions often go unnoticed. We want to change that,” Myrie said.
The deadline for nominations is Tuesday. Residents can view nomination forms, award criteria and event information online.
