Death toll in Morocco surpasses 2,800 as aid teams try to reach remote towns

It’s the deadliest earthquake to hit Morocco in more than 60 years, and the strongest quake in that country in more than a century. More than 2,800 people have been killed and another 2,500 have been injured.
Rescue workers have been searching the rubble for three days now, and for some, the hope that their loved ones will be found is starting to dwindle. Many remote villages in the High Atlas mountains lie in ruins as people wait for desperately needed aid.
