For the second time in recent weeks, the Conservative party’s push to spark an early election has failed to manifest.
Members of Parliament voted on a motion that was spearheaded by Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre to upend the Liberal government on Tuesday, on the basis that the Canadian government had lost faith in Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Liberal party’s leadership.

A similar result came about last month, following the resumption of House of Commons from its summer break. The push comes on the heels of the NDP’s decision to end its supply-and-confidence agreement with the Liberal’s that previously insulated the Trudeau government from such a political maneuver.
Yves-François Blanchet, the leader of the Bloc Québécois, has also been applying pressure on his Trudeau to pass a bill that would increase old age security — or otherwise face further instability within Ottawa.
