Chocolate settlement

Four of Canada’s largest chocolate producers will pay more than $23 million to settle a class-action lawsuit that accused them of price fixing.

Cadbury, Hershey, Nestle, Mars and distributor Itwal Limited all deny the allegations, but agreed to settle to avoid a long and expensive litigation.

Consumers who bought at least a thousand dollars in chocolate products between October 2005 and September 2007 can make a claim for compensation. And you don’t need purchase records. However, claims that aren’t supported by receipts will be capped at $50. The deadline for filing claims is December 15th. Choco-holics can get more information at chocolateclassaction.com
