Hamilton police are still on the trail of 2 men who tried to rob a Stoney Creek mountain landscaping shop early this morning.

It happened around 5:30a.m. at Oakridge Landscaping on Regional Road 20, right next to the Terra Greenhouse.

2 men apparently broke into the office looking for keys or other valuables, but were thwarted when the early shift showed up to work.

They immediately called police.

1 man fled in a vehicle while the other escaped on foot, managing to escape the K9 unit. CHCH news spoke with one employee this morning.

“There were some armed assailants broke in , stole some keys, pointed a weapon at a fellow employee of mine, and I guess they took off out the back or something. There was police looking for them everywhere.”

No one was injured during the break-in. Anyone with information should call Hamilton police or Crimestoppers.
