A Brantford man is facing several charges after a traffic stop in the city last week.

Police stopped a vehicle in the area of Colborne St. and Rawdon St. around 6 p.m. last Thursday.

Officers discovered that the license plate on the vehicle was registered to a different vehicle and did not belong to the driver.

The vehicle was not registered and was not insured.

Police say a “significant quantity of cannabis” was readily available to the driver, which is not permitted under the Cannabis Control Act.

They also found suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

The vehicle was impounded and police seized about 80 grams of cannabis and 538 grams of suspected cocaine.

The driver, a 32-year-old man, faces several charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property and charges under the Cannabis Control Act and Highway Traffic Act.
