Hamilton police have charged a local woman in a June pedestrian collision that left a man with serious, life-altering injuries.

Police say on June 25 around 4:30 p.m. a Ford Edge SUV was leaving a plaza on King Street West near Dundurn Street North when the driver lost control and hit the man in a bus shelter.

The 54-year-old man was taken to hospital. The driver was not injured.

The 36-year-old woman was charged on Tuesday with careless driving causing bodily harm.
