Bob Bratina says he has the experience, and the track record to get things done in Hamilton, should he be elected in October. “I think my history shows that as a broadcaster and a politician, I have a passion for the city.”
Former Hamilton mayor and liberal MP Bob Bratina is coming back for round two and has officially entered the race to be Hamilton’s next mayor. He says one of the biggest issues the city faces is affordability.
Bratina does have plenty of experience at Hamilton city hall. He was first elected to council in 2004 and then served as Hamiltons mayor from 2010 to 2014.
Keanin Loomis is also running in a bid to be elected as Hamiltons mayor come October. While the former president of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce has never sat on city council before, Loomis has told CHCH News that his experience serving the business community has inspired him to do more. “It has been an absolute pleasure to serve the business community in the city but as I said, I have so much more to give.” Loomis declined an interview with CHCH News today to talk about his campaign and on running against Bratina.
While Loomis has been a big supporter of the LRT, Bratina has been vocal about not supporting the project. But says how it pans out will really be up to the majority of council.
Mayor Fred Eisenberger told CHCH News that he is still undecided about seeking re-election but wouldn’t bet against it.
