(Updated) Hamilton Fire officials are estimating damage at $50,000 after a barn fire in Glanbrook.
Fourteen trucks were called to the Fletcher Road property and one person was taken to hospital with injuries. They were hurt while trying to remove farm equipment.
Claudio Mostacci of Hamilton Fire says when crews got to the scene, the flames had already spread.
“The roof had already collapsed and it was well involved. we went into defensive mode at that point. There was one person on site who was attempting to remove some of the vehicles inside the barn who was taken to hospital by paramedics.”
There are two barns on the property. The one where livestock is kept wasn’t damaged and no animals were injured. The fire was contained to a barn used for storing vehicles and equipment.
