Baby boy among 17 new cases of COVID-19 in Ontario

Ontario has confirmed 17 new cases of COVID-19, including a baby boy.

The latest positive test results bring the total number of cases in the province to 59.

According to Ontario’s website, the baby is younger than one-year-old and is from the Greater Toronto Area.

The other cases include nine men and seven women from across the province.

A 52-year-old Hamilton man and an Oakville woman in her forties are among the new cases. A Burlington woman was confirmed to have the virus on Wednesday.

Both Saskatchewan and Manitoba are reporting their first cases of COVID-19.

Quebec Premier Francois Legault is asking all people returning to the province from travel abroad to self-isolate for 14 days.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, are in self-isolation over COVID-19 concerns.

Trudeau said in a post on Twitter that his wife recently returned from a speaking event in the United Kingdom, and began experiencing mild flu-like symptoms Wednesday night.

Despite being in self-isolation, he will be discussing COVID-19 with cabinet and speaking with world leaders.
