Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife are in self-isolation over COVID-19 concerns

First Published:

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, are in self-isolation over COVID-19 concerns.

The Prime Minister’s Office says Sophie Gregoire Trudeau returned from the U.K. and began showing flu-like symptoms, including a low fever late Wednesday night.

She is now awaiting test results while in self-isolation at home.

Trudeau has not shown any symptoms, but “out of an abundance of caution” has decided to work from home until the results come in.

It has forced the cancellation of an in-person meeting of Canada’s first ministers. Trudeau will instead talk to each over the phone
and postpone the in-person meeting.

He says despite being in self-isolation, he will be busy at home working discussing COVID-19 and speaking with world leaders.
