Niagara police seek two suspects after break-in at Wellandport business

Niagara police are asking local residents to help identify two suspects in connection with a break and enter at a gas station-convenience store in Wellandport, Ont., early Wednesday morning.

Officers say at around 2:35 a.m. they received reports of a break-in at a business near Canborough and Wellandport roads.

They say two suspects had fled the scene prior to police arrival, after allegedly stealing various items from within the store.

Investigators say the suspects arrived in a black hatchback vehicle of an unknown make and model, and fled westbound on Canborough Road.

Detectives say witnesses saw one suspect with what appeared to be a firearm.

Police describe one suspect as being a six-foot-two tall man between the ages of 20 and 30, who was seen wearing a black balaclava, a blue hooded sweatshirt, black jogging pants, black running shoes and black gloves.

They describe the second suspect as a five-foot-nine tall man between 20 and 30 years old, who was seen wearing a black balaclava, a black hooded sweatshirt, black jogging pants, white running shoes and black gloves.

Investigators are asking residents to help identify the suspects and vehicle involved with the incident and to reach out to police at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009549.
