Peel Public Health says it’s investigating a confirmed case of measles in a Brampton infant.
The virus can only live outside the body for up to two hours, so anyone who visited the following locations during the times listed may have been exposed to measles:
Multiple other cases have been confirmed including one in Halton and two in Hamilton. The transmission of the Hamilton case is being linked to a man who travelled to the Philippines on March 14.
If you think you have been exposed, you should check your immunization records to make sure you and your children have had two doses of the measles vaccine. Symptoms include high fever, small spots with a white centre on the inside of the mouth and a red rash.
