Unionized workers at a Kellogg plant in London have voted to accept their severance packages ahead of the facility’s closure.
Nearly all of the 345 members voted, with more than ninety per cent in favour of accepting the packages, which include benefits and severance pay.
Kellogg announced in December that it would be closing the
90-year-old cereal plant by the end of this year, wiping out more
than 500 full-time jobs.
The union’s next move is to help workers with their pensions and to help them find new jobs.
