Hamilton settles human rights case against trans-woman

The city of Hamilton has reached an agreement to settle a human rights application that involved a trans-gendered woman.

The trans woman was denied access to the women’s washroom at the MacNab bus terminal by a city employee.  The employee offered her access to the family washroom.

The city says it is committed to providing accommodation options for washrooms and change rooms on an individualized basis.  As part of the resolution the city of Hamilton has agreed to put these principles into a written policy.
