Norfolk County man who fled crash charged with impaired driving: OPP

A Norfolk County man faces charges after running away from a crash that put his passenger in hospital.

OPP officers were called to a single-vehicle crash on Mall Rd., Middleton around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say the vehicle was travelling along Mall Rd. when the driver lost control and crashed into a hydro pole. The driver got out of the vehicle and ran from the scene.

The passenger in the vehicle, a 40-year-old from Norfolk County, was taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

As police were investigating, the driver returned to the vehicle and was arrested without incident.

Travis James Shepherd, 36, of Norfolk County faces impaired driving charges and a charge for failing to stop after an accident.
