Escarpment stairs reopening

Barricades on Hamilton’s popular escarpment stairs are coming down today.

City crews put them up in April to stop large crowds from gathering.

All five sets of stairs will be open and ready for use Saturday.

Users will have to keep a two metre distance from each other, and you’ll have to wash your hands afterwards because the railings will not be sanitized.

The city is also asking that people not gather in groups to use the stairs.
