Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say an overnight crash involving a motorcycle on the Burlington Skyway left the motorcyclist with serious injuries after their bike rear-ended a passenger vehicle.

Officers say the two-vehicle crash resulted in the motorcyclist being transported by Halton paramedics to Hamilton General Hospital.

On Thursday at around 11:45 p.m., the QEW Fort Erie-bound at North Shore Boulevard in Burlington was fully closed following the collision but has since reopened.

Detectives say no other injuries have been reported and the investigation remains ongoing.
