FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifiers happening in Hamilton on Canada Day

A FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifiers game is happening in Hamilton on Canada Day.

Team Canada will face the Dominican Republic on July 1 at FirstOntario Centre starting at 7 p.m. ET.

Canada is in Group C for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Qualifiers. They will take on the Bahamas, Dominican Republic and U.S. Virgin Islands.

Canada has a 4-0 record as they have not lost a game during the first two windows of the competition.

The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 is scheduled to happen from Aug. 25 to Sept. 10, 2023. It will take place in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines.

Tickets for the game will go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. ET.
