A Canadian music legend is donating his archive to the library at McMaster University.

Musician, storyteller and visual artist Tom Wilson will give the school his notebooks including ideas for songs, draft lyrics, drawings and photographs, all dated between 2003 and 2010.

There are also two paintings and annotated gallery proofs of Wilson’s memoir Beautiful Scars, which was inspired by his search for the truth about his Indigenous heritage.

McMaster University Library is expected to celebrate the donation with an event Thursday night.
